Hey ladies! Here's our reminder to mark your calendars for Thursday, October 9th at 7:00pm to celebrate the upcoming addition to the Cuff family! We are going to eat at the yummiest Max and Erma's restaurant on Canton Center (They seriously have the best tortilla soup!) Let me know if you are interested in doing a group gift!

Three Cedars Farm

Yesterday our family went to Three Cedars Farm. It is a place where you can pick pumpkins, go on hay rides and through a corn maze. They have a really cute country store and they also sell donuts and cider. Tessa loved the play area with slides and John Deere tricycles. We've visited a few farms like this in Michigan so far, but this one is our new favorite!
If you don't have time to try it out this fall, we hear that they decorate it really cute in the winter and Santa visits the big red barn.
It's on Six Mile road just west of Beck--about 15 minutes from our house. Check out their website for more info or call 248-437-8200.

Aldi's

The new Aldi's (a grocery store) is now open on Ford and Lilley. I went there today to check it out. Based on my quick walk-through, here is my assessment:

Cons: The store carries mostly generic items (not necessarily a con, but for some items, it can be), their selection was pretty random, and they don't have unique or international foods.

Pros: GREAT prices on some items. Milk was $1.99/gallon! They also carry some kitchen appliances.

I don't think that I will be at Aldi's every week, since they don't have a wide selection of items I use all the time, but I definately think that it is worth at least a once a month trip to pick up some cheap kitchen staples.

Hey girls-

My friend in Arizona is doing a Catalog Pampered Chef Party. You don't have to go to a party and feel obligated to buy anything.... you just hop on the website and check it out yourself. Take a look at http://www.pamperedchef.com/ or she sent me a few catalogs if anyone wants them. Then if there is anything you want, just let me know before Oct 3rd and I'll get it ordered for you. If you have any questions, give me a call! Emily 313-354-6236

Good Eats

We like to try new places to eat.  We are a big fan of the show Drive-In, Diners and Dives on the Food Network.  The Fly Trap was featured a while back on the show.  So we decided to check it out.  It is mainly a breakfast and lunch place.  We thought it was pretty good.  We would go again for sure.

Lifetime Fitness is having an open house this weekend so you can take the whole family for free.  They have free childcare and there childcare center is awesome.  You could also take the kids swimming or rock climbing.  I am not sure the open swim/rock climbing is so call ahead.

Detroit Symphony Tiny Tots Concerts

If your like me and love any and all music (well...almost all) than you might want to check out...

detroitsymphony.com

and look at their Tiny Tots Concerts for kids 2-6 years old.

(it says 2 and under are free, so I suspect you can bring them to these...the Young Peoples concerts don't allow babies).

I'm not sure if we're going to get season passes or just go to one. Looks like fun!

Let your imagination run wild at Macy's Super Saturdays at The Max. Make a day of it with concerts and activities for all ages. It's a musical extravaganza the whole family will enjoy.

Come early and enjoy KidZone FREE!-Marshall Music instrument petting zoo-Balloon artists-Arts & Crafts-Meet-n-greet with members of the DSO

THEY HAVE GROUP RATES IF WE HAVE AT LEAST TEN PEOPLE!

Do you want to go to the Halloween Concert as a group?

Library Storytime

Just a reminder that registration for storytime at the library opened up yesterday, Tuesday, September 2nd. Sorry about the late notice, but you can still hurry up and register before all the classes fill up! I registered Matthew for the 2-3 yr. old class on Tuesdays at 9:30am and Emily for the 4-5 yr. old class on Thursdays at 1:00. Feel free to join us or find the perfect time for your kiddos! Good luck!
