Any Runners out there??

I know there are some closet runners out there so I thought I would pass along these races;

www.oakwood.org/redoctoberrun . This one is on Oct. 1 and I am for sure doing it and am planning on having Owen do the jr. run. The other one is www.runscreamrun.com and it is on Oct. 22. Not sure if we are doing it too, we'll see how the first one goes!!

Birthday Lunch for Emily and Heather

We wanted to celebrate Emily and Heather's birthdays this Thursday with a lunch at Panera (without kids!!). We hired a couple of babysitters to be at Emily's house at 11:30.  Feel free to drop your kids off and then we can carpool to Panera.  We will split the cost of the sitters and enjoy a peaceful celebratory lunch!

Toledo Zoo Trip

We are heading to the Toledo Zoo on Monday and would love to have anyone come with us that's interested. We are planning on getting to the Zoo at 10:00 when it opens and having a picnic lunch while we are there. Let me know if you're interested and we can plan how to meet up.

Shell Barron has a garage full of children's clothes and they all for free.  Go see what she has.

• Boys clothes: 18 months through boys medium
• Winter coats, snow boots, hats and gloves
• Shoes, rain boots
• Leotards, ballet shoes, tap shoes

Children's Writing Contest

Contest open to three age groups: 6-8, 9-11, and 12-14

Stories will be judged on:
Creativity and originality
Quality of artwork
Compatibility of text and illustrations
Clear presentation of idea or story
Accuracy of spelling and grammar

One grand, 2nd, and 3rd prize winner in each age group. Nine winners total. No purchase necessary. Contest open to children ages 6-14 at time of entry, who are legal residents of the United States and have parental consent. Submit entries on Tikatok.com from July 11, 2011- Aug. 21, 2011. To enter, must have a valid Tikatok account (create an account for free at Tikatok.com). Stories can be a maximum of 20 pages in length.

Grand prize: Nook color, $500 Barnes and Noble Gift Card, and meet Peter Lerangis (39 Clues) in NYC.

Goodbye Megan!! :(

A last "Hurrah" for Megan is planned for Friday night at 6:30 at Panera Bread.  Maybe a movie afterwards.  My vote is for "The Help" which is coming out on Wednesday.

$1 Movie this Thursday

We're going to catch the last dollar movie of the summer this Thursday at 10:00 at the Goodrich theater.  The movie showing is Monsters vs Aliens.  If you're looking for something to do please join us.

Old Navy is having their jean sale this weekend (I read it was for 3 days only on the Old Navy facebook page) Jeans are $10!!! I bought some for both boys and for Hallie (toddler sizes are only $10 as well). This is available online too. . . And you can get free shipping if you spend over $50. You can look at their ad and there is a $10 off a $50 purchase coupon on the last page of their ad. So if you need jeans for your kids for school-it is a good weekend to buy them!!!! If you want to avoid going to the store-shop online!!!!

Tiny Tot Olympics

Canton is doing their Tiny Tot Olympics this Friday, August 5th from 10-11:30 at Heritage Park. We had tons of fun last year. It's $3 per kid and all the kids get a gold medal! Hope to see you there!
