Specialty Cake Items?
I was going to experiment with my kid's birthday cakes in March. Does anyone have a princess shaped cake pan or cake decorating items I could borrow March 17th-19th (ish). Also, does anyone know the best place to buy fondant?
I have cake decorating stuff. You can buy fondant at Joann with a coupon. It tastes yucky though. If you want better tasting fondant, make it with marshmallows, or buy satin ice http://www.globalsugarart.com/product.php?id=19925&name=Satin%20Ice%20White%20Rolled%20Fondant%20Icing%20-2%20pounds
I don't have any decorating stuff, but a friend of mine has a good recipe for marshmallow fondant too. http://kraftykatrina.blogspot.com/2010/02/fondant.html
Yes, I sometimes still read "Around Town". I know that may be weird...but oh well! There is a good store to rent cake pans from in Canton. I can't remember the name (maybe Ideal Cakes?) but it is in the same complex as Murray's Auto and the Secretary of State off of Ford Road. It is really cheap and a nice, friendly place.
Awesome. Thanks for all your help/information. Hopefuly, my experiment turns out to be a success. If not, I'll have learned a few lessons for the next time I try something like this. Thanks again everybody.

Call Cheryl Johnson. She is the "go to girl" on cakes around here. Have fun!
